Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is a main plasticizer with excellent properties for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics. Compared with the commonly used diisooctyl phthalate (DOP), it has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, difficult volatilization, anti extraction, softness and electrical insulation. It shows excellent durability, soap water resistance and low softness in products. Because of its low volatility, DOTP can fully meet the requirements of the temperature resistance grade of wires and cables, and can be widely used in 70 ° C resistant cable compounds (IEC standard of the International Electrotechnical Commission) and other various PVC soft products. DOTP can be used not only as a plasticizer for cable materials and PVC, but also in the production of artificial leather film. In addition, it has excellent solubility and can also be used as plasticizer of acrylonitrile derivatives, polyvinyl butyral, nitrile rubber, nitrocellulose, etc. It can also be used as plasticizer of synthetic rubber, paint additive, precision instrument lubricant, lubricant additive, and paper softener.
Product characteristics
1. DOTP has good electrical resistance and thermal performance. It can replace DOP in PVC plastic electric wire sheath and can also be used in the production of artificial leather film. In addition, it has excellent compatibility and can also be used for plasticizing acrylonitrile derivatives, polyvinyl butyral, nitrile rubber, nitrocellulose, etc. It also plays a role in improving the hardness and deformation of products, and can be used as a softener in products such as nitrile rubber, neoprene rubber, ethylene propylene diene monomer, etc. Especially used in cable materials, it has good plasticizing effect and low volatility. It is widely used in various products requiring heat resistance and high insulation. It is an ideal plasticizer for producing cable materials with temperature resistance of 70 ° C and other PVC products requiring volatile resistance.
2. DOTP is used for PVC products in cars, which can solve the problem of glass window fogging. DOTP is also used as high-quality lubricant or lubricating additive for paint, coating and precision instrument of high-grade furniture and interior decoration, nitrocellulose varnish auxiliary, paper softener, polyester amide biaxial stretch film, film plastic handicraft, plasma storage bag, etc.
3. Because the linear molecular structure of DOTP is similar to DOS and DOA, its cold resistance is also good.
4. The volume resistivity of DOTP is 10-20 times higher than that of DOP, and the migration resistance is excellent.
5. DOTP is an excellent environment-friendly plasticizer because it does not contain phthalates and is not within the scope of 16 phthalate containing plasticizers restricted by the EU and other countries.
